Oamenii vor manca carne artificiala, vor bea apa desalinizata si vor trai pana la 120 de ani, toate acestea in viitorul nu foarte indepartat. Scriitorul rus de literatura science-fiction, Vladimir Streletsky, a elaborat o lista a viitoarelor “achizitii” ale omenirii, folosindu-se de predictiile futurologilor, de profetii, dar si de proiectele viitoare ale oamenilor de stiinta. Chiar daca nivelul atins de stiinta va revolutiona viata pe Pamant, viitorul lui Streletsky arata putin cam infricosator.
2009-2025: robotii androizi vor fi utilizati in productia industriala;
2010: oamenii de stiinta vor dovedi ca sufletul uman supravietuieste mortii;
2010-2012: tari din Europa, America si regiunea Pacificului se vor uni sub forma unor blocuri regionale. O coalitie rusa-chineza va intrerpimde o misune de succes pe Luna;
2011: va fi inventat vaccinul impotriva SIDA;
2011-2023: Estul Mijlociu va crea o presiune demografica asupra Europei, iar numarul emigrantilor va creste considerabil. Democratia va cunoaste o criza in Europa si in Statele Unite, prin urmare, liderii acestora vor aborda forme de conducere autoritare;
2012: vor fi sintetizate medicamentele de marire a activitatii creierului;
2013: va fi construita prima plantatie pentru cresterea carnii artificiale;
2015-2025: resturile radioactive vor fi colectate de pe Pamant si deversate in spatiu;
2016: rezervele de petrol vor fi pe sfarsite;
2025: inceputul crizei globale de apa potabila. Cercetatorii vor gasi modalitati pentru a extinde durata de viata umana pana la 120 de ani;
2026: va fi creata inteligenta artificiala;
2027: vor fi receptionate primele semnale radio ale civilizatiilor extraterestre;
2029: aparitia cyborgilor; 2030: noi masuri impotriva imbatranirii umane;
2060: prima colonie umana pe Marte;
2090: primele orase subacvatice;
2114: omenirea va stabili primele contacte cu civilizatiile extraterestre.
